Interviews

Read below about some of the biggest artists in the business before they come to perform in Hong Kong and Macau.

This week we chat with Adam Wright, who’s been a part of Hong Kong’s nightlife scene for many years. Adam was a music journalist for the South China Morning Post (kindly writing about hkclubbing.com over the years), is a DJ known as AKW and was also part of the group behind the PUSH events.

Now Adam has been working on Omni Agency, an electronic music events and design company he co-founded with his wife, Petra Greening. Omni has been organising some exciting pop-up outdoor events since the end of 2021, with plans for more outdoor events and gigs with international artists from September this year.

Since its launch back in 2020, Magic Room has been hosting a number of successful events at diverse and iconic locations across the city of Hong Kong. Started by two French artists Mo-Shi and Leon, with the aim was to share their music and mindset to reignite a sense of happiness, challenged during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We get to talk to Leo and Remy about events that are surrounded by electronic music and art.

Back in 2019, hkclubbing.com flew to Thailand to experience a truly unique festival known as S2O Songkran Music Festival, which takes place during the Thai New Year's national holiday. The outdoor festival hosted an amazing line-up of some of our favourite artists including Said The Sky, Netsky, Fatboy Slim and more. Plus the dance floor was showering the crowd with water hoses! Now the festival is travelling overseas and will be coming to Hong Kong on the 5th and 6th of August 2023.

We had the chance to chat with Pulin Milintachinda, the founder and organiser of S2O and Carvin Chan, the organiser of S2O Hong Kong to find out more about the festival and what to expect in August at Central Harbourfront.

After being announced as the winner of the Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award 2023 this month, we caught up with Beckaly Franks to chat about her win, what she is currently up to and any future plans in Hong Kong and beyond!

LOVELY, Hong Kong based DJ and Label Manager of TOO MUCH has recently launched an event night and we get to sit down with him to find out more.

Nice to meet you, you are based in Hong Kong like us! How has the response been so far for your track new release 'Fly Away'?

Oh the response was enormous! I received so many comments, messages everywhere from new fans. I was moved by a girl in Croatia, who told me she wanted to be a singer like the girl in the music video. She was encouraged by the story. It was my aspiration to motivate people with my music in these difficult times. You don’t give up, you’ll eventually make it.

We had the chance to interview Hong Kong's Janette Slack about her music productions to her secret DJ shows in Hong Kong and around the world.

So, what is wcity.com all about?

wcity.com is a guide set up as a key source of information on the latest events, hospitality and lifestyle news that surround local and international brands in Hong Kong.

1. Hello, Lonskii. This is Huey from Hkclubbing.com from Hong Kong. Very happy to meet you at The UnKonscious Music Festival for the first time, how are you today?

Hi Huey,  I'm great, thank you! Nice to meet you too.  Welcome to Thailand and UnKonscious!

We had the chance to interview Bob Hardy from Franz Ferdinand before the bands show in Hong Kong this month!

You have toured all over Asia already, is there anywhere left that you still have not performed?

This tour is the first time we will play in mainland China. We have Chinese friends in London that have been telling us for years that we should go and play there, so finally we are!
