Last weekend, the debut three day Dragonland Music Festival took place outdoors in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district. It’s billed as the first time EDM is meeting pop, but it’s more than that. Now that the pioneering music extravaganza Clockenflap is 10 years old this year, it also shows that the maturing music city is ready for another music festival – one that features Black Eyed Peas, Iggy Azalea, Steve Aoki, Zedd, Carly Rae Jepsen, Infected Mushroom, Mike Posner, Redfoo and yes, the city’s own longtime “Heavenly King” Leon Lai (as well as others).

Known best for his five-piece electronic music band Neon Indian, Alan Palomo composes and fronts the group as well as performs as solo artist VEGA. After playing Clockenflap 2015, Palermo is back once again this autumn, this time spending his time behind the decks rather than the mic and keyboard at a smaller gig at Kee Club. We catch up with the artist ahead of his set.

From the same team behind dragon-I, which barely needs introduction as one of Hong Kong's most successful clubs, a brand new music lounge and restaurant is set to open its doors on 10 Nov. Named Cassio, the venue will take over the space on the second floor of LKF Tower, and is an eclectic three-room space featuring retro pieces, such as the vintage-style wallpaper, a chandelier inspired by the storied Lutrario Dance Hall, and onyx-topped bar tables. It also features a 55-seat restaurant, celebrating the Spanish way of wining and dining a night away, thanks to the enlisting of one of London's most popular tapas bars Barrafina as its kitchen partner.
We ask founder and Cassio curator Gilbert Yeung what's to expect at this brand new venue.
