Artist Bio:
Giedrius Sruogis, known as Gie Drius, is an audio-visual artist based in Hong Kong, originally from Lithuania. Growing up on his father’s film sets, he developed a deep appreciation for cinematic imagery and artistic expression. Influenced by his visionary parents—one a linguist and teacher, the other a painter and film director—Gie began his creative journey with classical choir music before exploring experimental audio sampling.
Gie's career flourished during his residency at AS220 in Providence, R.I., where he expanded into music, performance, and visual arts. After moving to NYC, he joined various arts communes, continuing to innovate through multimedia and live performances. His work is praised for being thought-provoking and masterfully designed, with critics noting the stories embedded in his creations.
