Tell us a little bit about how you got started as a DJ / Producer? Who was your biggest inspiration?

I felt in love with DJing in 1987 when I saw my uncle playing at a wedding. I was 11 years old. 2 years later, he stopped and gave me 2 turntables, a mixer and his record collection. From there, I've started to buy records and mix them together. My uncle and my father have been my biggest inspiration. They were listening to Supertramp, Gino Soccio, Abba, New Order, Michael Jackson, Queen, Human League, etc... And all the disco and synth pop from the 80's.

Will this be your first time in Hong Kong?  Is there anything that you are looking forward to doing or seeing in particular?

Indeed, it's my first time in Hong Kong. I don't have much time to visit the city but I look forward to feel the vibe of Hong Kong.

How do you feel that DJing and producing has changed over the last few years?

Djs have started to produce their own tracks or edits to play them live, many producers try to DJ because it's easy money.

What was your favourite memory of 2011 and what do you have planned for 2012?

My favorite show was Camp Bisco festival in America, an amazing vibe at Xoyo in London in December, Solar Festival in Holland (that was a 4pm after party show, everybody was on another planet...).

What can we expect from your upcoming performance at Vibes at The Mira Hotel?

A guy dressed up in a fancy costume with a magic wand in the pocket playing records and make people dance and happy.

Aside from your DJ equipment, name you top three touring essentials.

Shopping in Paris, Art galleries and avant-garde restaurants of New York, Coffees in Melbourne, Sea food and wine in Chile, Sun in Barcelona,...

What is the weirdest thing that you’ve seen from the DJ booth?

People dressed up in bunnies and doves.

Do you have any pre gig rituals?

A shot of vodka.

Who in your opinion are the best up-and-coming producers at the moment?

I really like what the label French Express, owned by Leon Oziel aka Perseus, and artists like Chris Malinchak, Jonas Rathsman or Moon Boots. I like also the young Australian guy called Flume and american's Goldroom, Oliver, Gigamesh,..

If you weren’t a DJ/Producer what would you be doing?

Owner of a wine bar or taxi driver in NYC.
