The Hong Kong Arts Festival has been a standout arts event in Hong Kong since 1973 and presents a broad spectrum of world-class performances in February and March each year.
At the 2024 Festival, there’s a whole world of music to discover, including legendary African singer Angélique Kidjo, Dutch chanteuse Wende and the Bright & Black programme by the Baltic Sea Philharmonic that combines heavy metal with Classical music.
And if you’re looking for an unforgettable theatre experience, don’t miss the Hong Kong-mainland China co-production I Am What I Am the Musical, the enthralling animation of Miwa Matreyek and the adventurous shows by Belgian theatre company Ontroerend Goed designed for one audience member at a time.
The 52nd Hong Kong Arts Festival opens with the Bayerische Staatsoper’s performance of Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss and closes with the Shanghai Ballet’s performance of A Sigh of Love, featuring more than 150 performances, ranging from music, dance and theatre to Chinese opera, multimedia shows and musicals.
