hkclubbing.com got to interview GTA on their Asia Tour with Rihanna, read on to find out more about them both!

Tell us a little bit about how you got started as a DJ / Producer? Who was your biggest inspiration?
I (Van Toth) started producing about 6 years ago. And JWLS about 4 years. I (VT) started after I heard Benny Benassi - Satisfaction and then attended Ultra Music Festival in 2008! JWLS had worked mainly on hip hop beats until we met through Facebook and started GTA 3 years ago. We both have tons of inspirations! Like Pharrel and the Neptunes are big ones for both of us. For VT I always loved Tiesto, Wolfgang Gartner, Gregor Salto, and any tribal kind of Electronic Music.

Will this be your first time in Macao?  Is there anything that you are looking forward to doing or seeing in particular?
Yes! This is our first time in Macao! First time in Asia actually! But we've heard many great things about how fun it is. We're not really sure what to expect but we can't wait!

How do you feel that DJing and producing has changed over the last few years?
We feel that Electronic Music fans have become more open to different and new sounds! This opens up our sets to be a lot more diverse with influences from tons of every genre.

What was your favourite memory of 2013 so far and what do you have planned for the rest of the year?

It comes between the first Rihanna tour and our selling out our first headlining show ever. This show was in our hometown in Miami at the club Grand Central and it is such an unbelievable feeling to sell out a venue with people that just want to see you play!

What can we expect from your upcoming performance in Macau for the two nights?
You can expect a very hype set! Our job is to hype up the crowd for Rihanna and that is what we should be doing!

Aside from your DJ equipment, name you top three touring essentials.

1) WIFI
2) Nag Champa - Incense
3) Laptop

What is the weirdest thing that you’ve seen from the DJ booth?
Someone trying to crowd surf and they just go right to the crowd lol it's really funny and awkward!

Do you have any pre gig rituals?
JWLS drinks a few beers and I have a drink or two... Followed by a pre-set fist bump!

Who in your opinion are the best up-and-coming producers at the moment?

There's a few dope producers coming up ! Juyen Sebulba is one of our favorites! Wiwek as well! Check them out.

If you weren’t a DJ/Producer what would you be doing?

Sleeping.
