Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, DJ Ross One's early dreams of rocking an old school NYC block party were limited to fantasy. Inspired by the mix of old and new, with an emphasis on finding his own unique style, he began amassing a huge record collection and became a well-known breakdance battle DJ in cities across the nation. Cultivating his craft by studying greats like Kid Capri and DJ Red Alert, DJ Ross One began to evolve his style and entered the competitive New York City club DJ circuit. At the same time, he pursued his lifelong passion for photography by receiving a Master's Degree from the School of Visual Arts and working alongside luminaries like Robert Frank and at the esteemed Pace/MacGill Gallery in Manhattan.  Since 2006, DJ Ross One has spent much of his time playing in the world-renowned party mecca of South Beach. In his relatively short time in Miami Beach, he has quickly become one of the cities most in-demand DJ's, and holds weekly residencies at the area's most exclusive nightclubs and events. His weekly Tuesday night "Favela Chic" party at Mokai is considered the hottest club night in Miami, where he blends a mix of hip-hop, house, and Brazilian baile funk for an a-list South Beach crowd. He is the Thursday resident at Set, Miami's newest and most-selective upscale club. DJ Ross One also holds residencies and regular nights The Setai, Prive, and Mansion. In New York City, DJ Ross One is currently a resident at Manhattan's top celebrity hotspot, Butter. A frequent visitor to Brazil, DJ Ross One spins at Sao Paulo's top venues, and has developed an unprecedented Brazilian record collection for the Brazilian-based parties he spins around the country. Ross One has played for countless celebrities and fashionistas from Quincy Jones and Diddy, to Bill Clinton. He was chosen to DJ select cities for Prince on his Musicology Tour, playing opening sets at venues like House of Blues in Chicago and for Prince's ultra-exclusive after-parties.
