Norman Jay returns by popular demand to drop Hong Kong to take his loyal fans on a journey of musical discovery from upfront funky house and old skool jazz funk to hip hop and chilled out beats. Known as “the deejay’s DJ” and officially cited in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Birthday Honours List and later presented with an MBE medal by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II for “deejaying and services to music”.

Norman was influenced on ...all aspects of black music from original 60's Jazz, blu beat, ska and rock steady reggae from Jamaica to r&b soul sounds emminating from late 60's black America.

An avid follower of contemporary Afro-American music styles in the late 70’s to seminal NY dance music labels, Norman’s regular stateside trips garnered friendships with Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and many more. With his brother Joey the GOOD TIMES SOUND SYSTEM was created to fulfill a long held childhood ambition to play at the infamous NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL - where he played FUNK, SOUL and DISCO.

An invitation from dj pal Gordon Mac to start up their own pirate radio station resulted in the launch of pirate radio KISS FM in 1985 attracting the talents of emerging London dj's like Jazzie B and Danny Rampling.

His much vaunted Shake 'n' Fingerpop party crew was among the leading purveyors of the new “rare groove” dance phenomenon sweeping the UK playing a brand new sound coming out of Chicago and New York - the sound was HOUSE music.

In the 90’s Norman co-established the very first 'Paradise Garage' style club in Britain called High On Hope which introduced US deejays and artists such as Tony Humphries, Blaze and Louis Vega (MAW) to the UK and US dance divas such as Jocelyn Brown and Chaka Khan.

He was headhunted by Polygram Records to launch a new label called Talkin Loud with close friend and fellow deejay Gilles Peterson. After four successful years - and many more happy years at KISS FM - he decided it was time to quit both and pursue his first love - deejaying.
