Description

Radio Slave has become a defiant symbol for the true art of DJing and passion for creating electronic music.

The man born Matt Edwards has never compromised his sound or ethics, and over a two-decade career, his remix credentials, burgeoning Rekids label and reputation for weaving together some of the most inspiring and unique techno and house found anywhere have maintained his status as a true DJ fuelled by a love of music.

Radio Slave says he makes “music for sound systems – nothing else” and these muscular tunes can regularly be heard in the set lists of the likes of Tiga and DJ Hell. DJ Mag listed him as one of the greatest remixers ever, and also awarded him “Best British Producer” in the “Best of British” awards. To date, Radio Slave's remix credits include artists such as Armand Van Helden, UNKLE, Josh Wink, DJ Sneak and many more.

As a DJ, Matt is in as much demand as he is for his production skills. Starting off at London's Milk Bar in 1992 and subsequently becoming resident at the Ministry Of Sound, Matt has since gone on to DJ at virtually every major club in the world. He has held residencies at Berlin's Panorama Bar and Paris' Rex Club, and can be found most weekends headlining the world's top clubs such as Fabric (London), Womb (Tokyo), Space (Ibiza) and Robert Johnson (Frankfurt).

After releasing his acclaimed mix CD for the Fabric compilation series, Radio Slave is now on the road to promote his upcoming Balance 023 release, joining a long list of luminaries who have recorded for the series including Lee Burridge, Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli. It’s a meticulously mixed journey through exclusive re-edits of tracks by artists as varied as Nina Kraviz, Ian Pooley and even Herbie Hancock, and again shows why Radio Slave is one of the best in the business.

The Balance 023 your will be Radio Slave’s first ever performance in Hong Kong, where he’ll be supported by the PUSH residents Frankie Lam, Lukas and AKW, plus special guests.
