Description

This Friday, immerse yourself in an unforgettable night at The Aubrey, Mandarin Oriental, as we host the legendary DJ collective, The Holy Spirits. Featuring Hong Kong's most iconic DJs - DJ Kulu, DJ Suiki, DJ El Toro, this event promises a journey through the annals of music history paired with pulsating modern rhythms.

DJ Kulu: Dive into Kulu's eclectic mix of Jazz, Latin, Funk, and more. A pioneer whose musical odyssey began on the sun-soaked shores of Ibiza, he hosted some of London’s most notorious parties before relocating to Scotland to launch his acclaimed “Jazz Joint” nights at Henry’s Cellar Bar where Kulu spun an intoxicating blend of bebop, Latin-jazz, and mainstream jazz alongside groundbreaking live acts and break-dancers. His nights, once graced by luminaries like Roots Manuva and Finlay Quaye, catapulted him to become a pivotal figure in the UK jazz circuit. Back in Hong Kong, Kulu has become a fixture in the city's vibrant festival scene and underground club nights, earning him the affectionate title of Hong Kong's 'Master Shifu' of DJs.

DJ Suiki: Traverse the evolution of the electronic music scene with DJ Suiki Lor, whose storied career took off in the underground discotheques of 1970s San Francisco. By the 90s, Suiki was instrumental in ushering in a new era of house music in Hong Kong with his trailblazing club night ‘Simply Done.’ His collaborations with giants like Derrick Carter and Louis Vega, and memorable performances alongside Paul Oakenfold and Grace Jones during the iconic 'UNITY' rave, have cemented his status as a seminal figure in Asia's music scene. Today, Suiki's influence continues to reverberate across Asia, making him a pivotal member of the ‘Funk Fever’ crew and ‘The Four Reprezentz.’

DJ El Toro - Feel the pulse of Eternal House and Disco Classics with El Toro who has fused the fiery energy of Kowloon's disco scene with modern electronic vibes, creating unforgettable party experiences.

Expect an evening where house music through the generations reigns supreme, from the foundational beats of the past to the innovative sounds of today. Don't miss this blend of Hong Kong's old school legends with the fresh, electrifying energy of London's new wave.
